Fold Out Mini

I came across these pictures and realized that I hadn't blogged them yet. I made these little minis for Mother's Day this year and gave one to my Mom and one to David's Mom.

The great thing about this type of mini is it only uses one sheet of 12x12 paper. I'm pretty sure that I'll be doing more of these in the future.

100th Post

I can't believe this is my 100th blog post. When I started this blog I didn't know what I was doing, what I'd blog about or if anyone would read it (I still don't) especially when it seems everyone has a blog now days. But I knew I wanted to start my own blog for me to post about whatever I wanted and didn't care if my husband or friends that I make read it were the only ones whoever did. It is what it is and that is fine with me. I will continue to use this blog in the same way I've been using it and hopefully one day I'll be more creative in what I post and more people will swing in to read it, but if not thats ok too. Thanks to the ones who do read it.

I thought this post I'd share a little bit about me. I found an ABC's of me type questioner online and thought that would be perfect to get to know me a little better. So here goes...

A) age ~30
B) Bed size ~ King
C) Chore that you hate ~ Putting the laundry up. I don't mind getting it in the washer and from the washer to the dryer or even folding it, but I hate putting it up, therefore our laundry room is always stacked with months worth of laundry that needs to be put up.
D) Dog(s) ~ 1 a Chocolate Lab named Daisy
E) Essential start to your day ~ Coke, Diet Coke or Diet Dr. Pepper. I don't drink coffee but I need caffeine.
F) Favorite color ~ Purple
G) Game ~ any board game that makes you laugh
H) Height ~ 5'9"
I) Ideal day ~ That depends, one where David is home and we're just hanging out at the house or a day where the creative juices are flowing and I can get a lot of creative/scrapbooking things done.
J) Job title ~ Social Service Specialist II
K) Kids ~ Unfortunately no, but not because we don't want any. But we're still hoping that one day God decides to bless us with one or three.
L) Live ~ Oklahoma
M) Movie ~ I love scary movies always have and always will, but the last several "scary" movies I've wasted my time and money on have been big disapointmennts soooo....
N) Nicknames ~ Not really, but my family calls me Sister
O) Overnight Hospital Stay) ~ No, thank goodness
P) Pet Peeves ~ To many to name them all, but the biggest ones are lying and cheating
Q) Quote from a movie ~ I'm sure I have one or several but can't think of any right now
R) Right or Left handed ~ Right
S) Siblings ~ 3, two older sisters and a twin brother
U) University ~ SOSU
V) Vegtable you hate ~ Ummm... all of them
W) What makes you run late ~ Not wanting to get up or get dressed. EVER
X) X-Rays you've have ~ Ankle
Y) Yummy food you make ~ Cakes
Z) Zoo animal ~ Elephants

Well there you go a little bit about me. That was fun. Thanks for stopping by.

Peace & Love

I did two cakes this weekend. One for our niece's 9th birthday and then one of David's cousins asked if I'd make him a cake because him and his girlfriend are celebrating two yrs. How sweet is that? I wanted to ask him if I need to put "will you marry me"? on it, but I didn't. I did however ask him later about it and he said, "not yet, maybe soon". He would have been eight or nine when David and I got together and it's crazy to think about him thinking about getting married.

So when he called me up, I asked my usual question, what are thinking as far as design, what colors, what flavor, all to which his response was, "I don't know. You're a girl I figured you had some idea". There's the man I know. LOL!! I found this really super cute and simply cake on line and thought it would be perfect.

I ended up messing it up, but it still turned out kind of cute and when he got there to pick it up he acted like he really liked. I asked him later what she thought of it and he said she loved it. Which makes me love it when I know I screwed it up, but others love it anyway.

Our niece's birthday theme was peace. She's all about the peace signs and theme right now. All that she kept saying was that she hoped the cake a peace sign on it. Easy peasy right? Well I guess it really was, I just didn't let my peace sign dry long enough before I tried to move it so it kind of stretched out some and looks like an oval instead of a circle. hehe. But once again when she saw it she really liked it and was so happy that it had a peace sign on it.

So missons accomplished even if I know that neither one of them are perfect. But hey I'm not a professional, so these cakes will have to do. In seriousness, I'm really happy that both liked their cakes, but the most important thing is that they tasted GOOD!! And as far as I'm concerned I'd rather my cakes taste good instead of looks good and taste like cardboard. Just sayin'. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Did any of you eat any good cake?

Cork Board // DIY

This weekend I did a little DIY cork board makeover, nothing major or hard at all. I know that I am not the only person who has ever done this, but this is the first DIY I've done and put on the blog so I wanted to share it. I bought the cork board forever ago at Target and found some fabric and the hooks (half off) at Hobby Lobby forever ago too and finally got around to doing it this weekend.

Again super simple and easy to do. For now I just used push pins to hold the hooks in place until I get some screws that will work, but I haven't had any problems with pins so I may just roll with it like that.  I plan on hanging pictures and anything else that hopefully, will get the creative juices flowing. I'm wanting to do more DIY things and thanks to Pintrest I've got a few things I'm wanting to get started on. Now its your turn, go do your own DYI board and have fun!

Project Life Week 27

Project Life

Week 27 was a fun week. David was home for the week, finally got my table and I love it. Super excited about it, and it was the 4th of July which meant no work, always a good thing.

Don't you just love the table. I know I said I would post pictures of it and I will I just want to get the chairs and do some other things to the kitchen first. I am very happy with it, but kind of wish I would have stuck with the longer one although I'm not sure they could would have been able to get a bigger one in the door. Right now I'm leaning toward some super cute white chairs from Pottery Barn, bu not a hundred percent sure,  any suggestions?

Once again this week is mostly instagram pics and I'm loving how these pictures are turing out in the weekly spreads. I'm off to finish week 28 that way I'll be all caught up once again and won't be trying to remember what pictures go with what week. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you had a great weekend.

I Want It Wednesday

Another Wednesday, another want. I went shopping this past weekend and found two pair of shoes that I wanted. I was so bummed when they didn't have either pair in my size. I mean really, neither pair in my size? What the....  So since then I've been looking everywhere for both pair, but at this point I'll be happy if I can get one pair in my size.

These are Jessica Simpson shoes and I've been wanting them forever and they were finally on sale and NOT IN MY SIZE. But I haven't given up hope yet, I'm still looking. Of course they have the blue and green ones in so many different sizes, but that's because they don't rock like these pink and purple ones do.

These are Chinese Laundry and I LOVE them. They change color from pink to purple to blue and are SUPER cute. They'll go with black, purple, blue and I'm sure whatever other color you through at them. Gotta have these. I'm hopeful that I can find both pairs in my size and that they will very soon be on the way to my house. When I told the hubs that I had found two pair while shopping Saturday, but they didn't have either pair in my size I think he blew a sigh of relief that I didn't get to add to my ever growing shoe collection, but I mean come on babe you should know me better than that. Did you really think I was going to give up so easily on two fantastic pairs of shoes? No a chance. And while yes, I admit that I am a bit of a shoeaholic, I can't help it. When I see really like shoes (case and point the above photos) there is something that just says "you have to have those". I think both pairs of these should really be staples in any womans closet, just sayin'. Well I'm off to do some online shopping to see if  I can find either/both pair wish me luck.

Take Me Out To The Ball Game // Snapshot Of Us

I'm back to share two layouts that I did using Studio Calico's July kit. I love it when layouts just come together super easy and that was the case with both of these layouts. I'm already working on some layouts.

Take Me out to the Ball Game
I really like the way this page came together. Simple and clean.

Snapshot Of Us

I really like what misting does to layouts. I need to invest in some more (a lot more).

Thanks for stopping  by. Hope you have a great Tuesday. I'm just hoping that it's better than Monday was. Just gotta remember, "Make Something Good Today". (wink)

Monday, Monday

It's no secret that I hate Mondays, as I'm sure that most people do. I think a lot of my problem is that I don't like my job and I haven't for a long time now and while I've been trying to find something different nothing has come up yet. I want to be one of those people who love to go to work and wants to be there not because they have to. Hopefully one of these days that will be my case. But until then I'll have to deal with where I'm at. Don't get me wrong I'm grateful that I have a job because I know there are so many out there doesn't, but I'm not happy and that makes for a miserable work week.

I try to not let my job rub me wrong or stress out to much over it because I know that all that paperwork will be there tomorrow, but it sucks knowing that too. Knowing that you will NEVER be caught up isn't something I look forward to every day I go to work. But it is what it is and I'm dealing with it, like I've been dealing with it for almost eight years now. This past weekend while I was in target I ran acrosss this....

and had to have it. I'm hoping that the sentiment and bright colors will cause me to do what it says. If it's scrapbooking or just something creative related or better yet to apply it to my everyday job. So here's hoping that this little notebook will cause me to "make something good today" and everyday. I hope that you too will "MAKE SOMETHING GOOD TODAY". Have a great Monday!

Project Life Week 26

Project Life

Well I've just about gotten caught back up on PL, just need to finish this last week (week 27). It seems like (once again) that all of my posts are PL posts, but I haven't been that creative or done anything fabulous so it is what it is. Once again this week is almost nothing but istagram pictures. I can't help it, it's just so easy to use my phone.

Jeff finally got started on my table and I was super excited. It just took him six months to get started and only a day and a half to build it. It is now at my house and I am loving it. I'll post pictures of it later.

I met David in Dallas on Thursday and we spent the weekend down there. His family came down on Friday and we went to a Rangers game and then Saturday we went to Six Flags and yes it was HOT!!

Used the design E photo pockets  again. It's perfect for fitting several pictures onto one print.  It was also our first time at TopGolf and let me say that it is my kind of golf. I'm pretty sure that we'll be going back the next time we're down there. It ended up  being a pretty good week with a lot thrown in on the weekend. It feels good to be almost caught up again. I'm still loving this project and I am glad that I decided to do it another year. Being able to look back at one book and see what all we did or all that happened that year of our lives is great.

Let Freedom Ring

I hope that everyone knows what it has cost and still costs for us to have our freedom. I pray for those that have given and are still giving their all for our nation. Freedom isn't free or cheap. It comes at a great price and there are only a few men and women who are willing to pay that price and  give their all for it. If it wasn't for those few great people where would we be today? I shudder to think about it. I don't like even thinking about where this country is headed now, but we need to. We need to get back on track and get right again or this free country won't be so free anymore. We need to remember why we celebrate the Fourth of July and we need to thank God that we have been able to celebrate this nation for as long as we have. We are One Nation Under GOD!

I hope that everyone has a fun and safe Fourth of July. Happy Independance Day America.

Project Life Week 25

Project Life

Trying to get caught up again on PL. Week 25 wasn't super busy, but still lots of fun.

Sunday we celebrated Father's Day and my nephew's 16th birthday. I'm telling you I'm getting old. It's crazy that he's already 16.

I am loving these red shoes that I ordered from DNA footwear. I'll be wearing them a lot this summer.

The rest of the week was spent here and there. Saturday  went to a friend's little girl's pool party for her fourth birthday. It was a lot of fun to watch the kiddos swimming. I made the cake and managed to mess up the front, but it still tasted great!!  Have I mentioned that I am loving Instagram?
Well I am and I'm not sure I've even picked up my Canon this week except for Sunday. It's so easy and convenient to just pick up my phone. I'm sure that from here on out a lot of picutres will be Instagram pics and I am totally ok with that.
