Hello December

Hello December! I for one am really looking forward to this month. It'll be the first full December that David will be home since we've been married instead of just the week of Christmas. Of course the only thing that would make it even better would be if the house was one hundred percent complete and we were gonna deck the halls. Oh well, it is what it is and we are going to make the best if it.

I still can't believe that it's December and this year is almost over. I've decided to do a December daily again this year. Not sure how much of it I'll show since we still don't have Internet and blogging from my phone is a pain, but who knows we'll see how it goes. I did want to share my cover  today though.

It's not what I had in mind when I started and in fact I messed it up and had to try to fix and this is what I came up with. Guess it'll have to do. How about you, are you doing a December daily this year? This will be my third year doing one and I'm really looking foward to it since David will be here. Happy Sunday.

Winter's comin'

Winter is coming like crazy it seems. We've already woken up to icicles and freezing weather. As long as it took Fall to finally show up, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that it didn't take winter long at all to make its appearance. Thankfully I like winter (not ice though). I'm all about sweater weather and layering up with scarves and hats and gloves!
But I'm also all about cozy nights at home with the mister drinking hot chocolate. Yum! And ummm... OMG Thanksgiving is tomorrow!!!!! What the what!!!! Christmas will be here before we know it. This year has flew by, where does the time go? Most days it seems to be dragging and then you look up and the year is over. Lookout 2014 here we come.

On a side note we are still not done with the house which makes me very sad, but hopefully it'll be complete by Christmas or at least by the end if December. All we like is the rock. Also we've been without Internet for over a month now (I'm coming at you from my phone) and we were already supppse to have that done too. So hopefully everything will be back to normal for us within the next month. But until then I hope you have had a great November and I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Acknowledge Him

Proverbs 3:6. This verse is so true and I'm glad that I ran across it looking through our Bible. It was even underlined like it was meant for me to find and read. I love when that happens. I'm not sure who done that, but I'm guessing since only David and I read this Bible it must hav been him, so thanks babe!

How many times do we need direction in our life? I know I need it ALL the time and knowing that all I have to do is acknowledge Him and he will guide my paths is such a comfort for me. I'm not very good about reading my Bible or doing daily devotions and I want to change that. I need to change that. I need guidance daily and what better way to get it then that? Just a little food for thought in this Wednesday.

Lately

Lately, I've been without Internet and t.v. for a couple of weeks now and that is really getting old. You'd think I'd have all of the stuff on my to do list checked off, but that is not the case at all.

Around here we've had some pretty rainy days which is not good as far as trying to finish up the house. We are almost done, just need to get the rock laid and some other little things that are left (that has to wait on the rock). It should have already been completed, but here at the end we've had a few road blocks. Namely our rock layer finding out he may have lung cancer (praying for him and his family) and not knowing if he'll be able to work. Other than that the weather is causing other problems, but we will get it finished and hopefully be fully moved in by Thanksgiving. I am beyond ready let me tell you, you have NO idea. ;)

We've also had some very pretty days after the rain. Of course you're wading through mud, but the sun is shining on you while knee deep in it.

I've also joined a book club with some ladies at work and at our first get together the hostess made this super cute wreath with book paper.

And it's finally starting to look like Fall around here and that makes me very happy. I'm ready for cooler temps. Hope you're having a fabulous week.

Project Life Week 35

Happy Friday!! Whew it's been  long week, but thank goodness it's over. I wanted to share this week with you. It was a pretty busy week starting off with canoeing, work, the movies, breaking my lens hood, and fun time celebrating Labor Day with The Band Perry who was awesome by the way. I would see them again if I get the chance. Have a great weekend. ☺

Where is Fall?

Where is Fall? That is my question. I know its only the first of October, but I've been seeing so many pictures through social media of people and their beautiful changing leaves and trees and cooler temps. Not here in Oklahoma though. Our leaves are not changing colors, but thankfully our temps are dropping a little. It's no longer in the 90's and that makes me happy. I know Fall will get here soon enough, but I'm ready now!! How about where you live, how's Fall coming along there?

A heavy heart

Sometimes things in life happen that we don't understand and never will. We ask over and over why? Why did this happen? Why now? What was so bad that they didn't see another way. These along with thousands of other questions were asked yesterday and will continue to be be asked for a long time to come. Tragedy hit our family yesterday and it's something that we'll never understand. Things could have turned out way different than they did and that would have been worse. I'm not saying that what did happen was good in any way, but I believe that God has a plan and I'm going to leave it at that.

Driving to work this morning it was so foggy and seemed fitting with my mood for the day and life in general right now. I know that life will resume and go on like it always does. I know that my sister and nephews will go on with their lives while trying to deal with all that has been thrown their way. I know that with pray and God, He will see us through it. I know that he never gives you more than you can handle, even though it may seem like it.

Project Life Week 32 & 33

Happy Sunday and first day of Fall. I for one am ready for the season to change, I'm beyond ready for some cooler weather. How about you? I wanted to pop in real quick and share weeks 32 & 33 of project life.

Week 32 was about being lazy, a journal, visit to the dentist ( I hate the dentist and I'll be going once a month over the next several months ack!!), a birthday celebration, I wore a dress to work (never happens) and our little trip to see Bruno Mars.

Week 33 was all about recovering from the concert, David starting his new job, movie night, at the new house to scope out the progress, 61 degree weather during August?!?!? what the what.... crazy I know, chocolate cupcake for breakfast (yummy) and men at work. David and his uncle running the water line. Both weeks were pretty busy and the weeks are going by so fast.

I'm still behind and still playing catch up, but I love this project and am so glad that I've done this over the past few years and look forward to continuing to do it. How about you? How do document your life?

The Flea Market

This past weekend my sister, mom and I went on a little two hour road trip in search of this flea market that my sister was told about. So we piled in the car Saturday Morning and took off. We always have fun when we are together, laughing, making fun of each other, gossiping and singing at the top of our lungs so two hours in the car really doesn't seem that long.

We finally got to the place and was ready to get our shop on.

This sign is SO me. I just had to take  picture of it. And really if it wasn't for last minute the chances of me getting anything done would be pretty slim. ☺

The one thing I really wanted was these old wash tubs and the stand, but It was for display only. Made me really sad, because this would have been great sitting on our new back porch. So now I'm on the hunt for one that is for sale.

We spent about three hours wondering around this very over priced flea market. I was the only one who bought anything and I spent fifteen dollars. (I'll have to another post on that DYI).

Then we hit up Lowes and a few other places before we landed at The Outback.

We finished the day off by sharing a yummy treat before we headed home. It was a great day and I loved that we got to share it with each other. Hope your weekend was just as great.

Project Life Week 31

Hello project life week 31 and hello Monday. Wanted to share this really quickly today before I head off the new house (something about the plumbing.... always something).

This week started off with a little go cart and ice cream before we headed home from Hot Springs, AR. I loved the shower curtain in our hotel room, just a nice little reminder. I love the yogurt from McDonald's.

And the week ended with me needing a major chocolate fix and not wanting to make anything so I ate just chocolate chips and peanut butter with a spoon. I mean is there really anything better when you need a fix? I think not. :) I also had my first iced caramel mocha from McDonald's. Let me just say that I am NOT a coffee drinker. I love the way it smells, but I have never been one to drink. For whatever reason I got this idea that I wanted to try an iced mocha so off to McDonald's I went. Yeah, I'm still not a coffee drinker. LOL Then Friday FINALLY rolled around. It was a long week followed by loads and loads and loads of laundry that still hadn't been but up from when I went to the laundry mat on Wednesday. This was bit of a crazy week and I was glad when it was over. I hope you had a great Monday!!

(ha I just realized that I didn't stamp the dates for this week on the date card. LOL I'm off to fix that right now).

Celebrating 8 yrs

Good morning and happy Labor Day!! I love when a holiday falls on a Monday because that means I get to sleep in and either do nothing all day long or plan something fun. I still haven't decided what we'll do today but so far I'm leaning toward the do nothing. I did want to pop on here and share a recent layout that I did. I had these instax from when David and I celebrated our 8th anniversary back in May, just laying around so I figured it was time to do something with them. This page was very simple to throw together and didn't take long at all which is always a good thing since we are still in the trailer and my space is limited. I CAN NOT wait to get this house done so I'll finally have my scrapbook room back. Hope your Labor Day is a great one.

Changes

Life lately has been all about changes around here. If you read this post  then you know a few weeks ago David had his first real interview ever, but what you wouldn't know is that he got the job!!! We are super excited about it and after 8+ yrs of marriage of him working off and only being home for a little bit here and there, we are finally going to get to see what it's like to be a real life married couple (hehe) with all kinds of changes that we both are going to have to get used to.

Changes of seeing nasty work boots at the door everyday

Changes in learning to share our space 24/7 now.

Changes in cooking every day.

Changes in doing way more laundry and way more often.

Changes in making/packing lunches daily in scratched up lunch boxes.

Changes in there being way more junk food in the house. I can so get used to this though because I used to not buy it because I'd be the only one to eat it, now I've got help.

Changes in sharing the t.v.

Changes in sharing the bed.

Changes in 12 hour rotating shifts (yeah, that's going to be a pain to try to get used too)

Changes in the daily routine.

Changes in the two of us living in the trailer full time. (hurry up house)

All of these changes and so many more. But we are a strong couple and will get through this and learn new routines and how to basically live together as a married couple. Its a whole new chapter in our lives and I can't wait to get started.

Project Life Week 30

Back to share week 30 of project life. This week was pretty busy and the weekend was oh so fun!

Really the weekends aren't long enough. David got home from being gone off working and that is always something I try to document. National hot dog was celebrated of course at Sonic with a $1 hot dog, not a bad way to spend lunch.

We finished off the week with David having his first ever actual interview for a job. Every other job he's ever had plus the one he's had for the past 8 + yrs he just sort of got without having to interview (lucky him).  And with a little family trip to Hot Springs, AR. We spent Saturday at Magic Springs and thankfully the weather was fab, not to hot at all. Plus the water park helped with that too. :) David and I hung out for the Theory of  a Deadman concert. They were pretty good. It was a pretty good week.
