Wrapping up December Daily and 2011

I finally got my December Daily completed. I have to say that I'm glad I did this project this year, it was a lot of fun. I've got the rest of my pages photographed and here they are.
Days 14-17 I used two paper bags. It didn't turn out like I was really wanting, but it worked well enough.

I added an envelope for extra pictures from the 23rd, 24th, & 25th.

And that wraps up my December Daily and 2011. I hope everyone has a safe and magical new year's eve. I can't wait to see what 2012 brings. I hope that it brings lots of new adventures. I'm also excited to get started on my project life 2012 tomorrow. Still can't believe this is the last day of the year. Have fun and I'll be seeing you in the new year.

December Daily Part 2

Here are days 9-13. Around here not much happens in the first few weeks of December since we don't have kids and David doesnt' get home till right before Chirstmas, but this is what my December has looked like so far this year.
I got these super cute Christmas dishes at the Dollar Store. Can you believe it? I still can't. This is the first set of Christmas dishes that I've bought and so I thought I would document them in my DD.
This is the back of day 9. I decided to do the journaling for day 9 on the back of the page.
On Saturday (day 10) it was my turn to host the monthly "meeting of the minds." The theme this month was a "Traditional Christmas Dinner." It was perfect. I mean could you go wrong with any Christmas themed idea? I don't think so. I went with an envelope for day 10 because I knew that I would have a few pictures that I wanted to include. I did a little misting with snowflakes that was cut using my Cricut and Mister Huey's from Studio Calico.

Day 11 I got the idea for the two tags from Lisa Truesdell. She is amazing. Love her work.
And since I was going to use an Instax picture I decided the tags would be a great page for it. Did I mention I love How The Grinch Stole Christmas? It is one of my favorite Chirstmas movies. It ranks right up there with A Christmas Story.

Christmas came a little early for me. I was super excited when I got home and saw that my core kit for project life was sitting at my front door. I like to order all of my stuff at one time that way I have it all together and in my hands, but I wasn't wasting any time ordering this kit just in case they all sold out. But the rest of the items I'm wanting needing  for my 2012 project life are in my cart waiting on the items that won't be ready until next month. Which also means that I'll be starting the year off behind, but I'll get caught up. I hope!

Not much was going on on this day, I was doing a little reading on my Kindle (which I love) and thought about how I got it for a Chirstmas gift from David two year ago and that I should make a page about that. So that's what I day for day 13. That's all I've got for now. I'll be back with more December Daily pictures.

December Daily

Finally getting around to posting the first part of my December Daily. I wanted to be one of those who had the base pages ready to go and all that had to be added was the photo, some journaling, and maybe some embellishments, but what do you know, I didn't do that. Since this is my first time doing this project I wasn't sure how I wanted to do it. So I decided to do a few pages at a time and go from there. I also wasn't sure if I wanted to do a two page spread for each day or not. I'm pretty sure that next year I'll be doing it completely differnet not to mention if another kit is offered I'll be purchasing it. So here is the first few pages (days 1-8) of my DD.

Here is the cover. I went with a 6x6 album and yes I know I'm missing a binding ring. I only had two on hand so I need to pick up some more and some more Christmas supplies. When I started this project I didn't realized how few Christmas supplies I had, but I've started a list of things I need (yes need) to finish this album.
The inside of the cover and the first few pages of the album. I made the calendar and put some stars on dates that I knew I/we had something going on.

For the first page I went with a poem, The True Meaning of Christmas by Brian K. Walters. I just loved what this poem said.

Page two with the journaling on a tag behind the photo.
So far my pages have just been one page layouts instead of two pages per day so I needed to come up with an idea for the journaling for day four since I had several pictures and no more room on that page. I had one of these treat pages laying on my desk (without any treats in it, I know right!?!) and thought that would be great to use as a holder for my journaling and I could put day four on the front and day five on the back. Worked out great.
Day four journaling.

And day five journaling.

No picture today. I made some little tags and a pocket for day seven.
The front of the tags.

And the back of the tags (sorry, crummy picture).

Now that there has been way too many pictures for one post I'll be back with the rest of my DD and get completely cought up so that there will not be such an overload of pictues for next time. Thanks for stopping by.

DYI Christmas Wreath

I wanted to make two small wreaths to hang on the french doors that are in my kitchen. While I did find some very cute ones, I decided to make my own. I wanted them to be small, simple, and cheap. That is exactly what I made. While I'm sure there are way more creative folks out there that have way better ideas this is what I came up with.

Here's the stuff I used to create my mini wreaths
The "wreath" is actually garland that is rolled that I got at the Dollar Tree. I couldn't decide if I wanted to use the garland or buy an actual wreath, but I went with the garland and like the way they turned out. The rest is from Wal-Mart. Also a glue gun.

This is half way through. The Christmas balls just wasn't enough so I went back to Wal-Mart to get some gold flowers, but found these instead and loved them and they had gold on it.

Here they are finished. I like the way they turned out. I didn't want want huge wreaths on these doors and I think these turned out to be just the right size.

And a close up of each.
(please ignore the dirty panes on the doors). So that's it. Super simple, easy, and cheap. You can't beat that.
