In progress

I've got so many things... home, life, work, DIYs, and scrapbooking projects... in progress right now it's crazy. I've got several mini albums going right now and my scrapbook room is a HOT MESS right now because I'm finally getting around to getting it cleaned up and organized and I'm so ready for it to be done.
One of two mini albums of like to get finished up is this one, Summer Lovin'. I took the Marcy Penner class over at Studio Calico and I'm loving it.
And the other one I'm itching to get finished is my "This is me" mini album. It was another class that was offered by Studio Calico and it's been really fun to work on and I'm so so glad that I signed up it.

But I like I said I've got so much other stuff going to that I have no idea when I'll get one thing let alone all of them done. It's all a work in progress! ;) Hope you have a great weekend.

In 3's

I have three nieces on David's side of the family. Two of the three have birthdays in May that are only 3 days apart and the other one has a birthday in July. Well for whatever reason, they didn't get around to doing their parties until last weekend and since I've been doing their cakes for the past few years, I was asked to make them cakes this year as well. Of course I said yes! I was told by their mom that I didn't need to do 3 cakes two would be enough and that they would be ok with just two cakes. So I said ok, I mean two cakes is less work then three for me so I was super excited about that. Well after I got home and got to thinking about it, I knew there was no way I could just do two cakes. That meant that one of the three would have to share a cake and I just couldn't have that. So I thought I'd do two cakes and some cupcakes (you know I love me some cupcakes), but even that didn't seem right because one would still be without a cake. So being that rock star aunt that I am ;) I decided do a cake for each of them. While I'm sure they all had ideas for a theme or what type of cake they wanted, I was told I could do whatever I wanted and whatever was easiest for me. So I thought of colors and then got online for super simple frosting ideas and for at least one I hadn't done before.

And this is what I came up with and all three girls where so excited and happy that they each got their own cake and that made me happy too!! It didn't take long for me to decide on colors and I've done the ruffle and rose frosting before even though with this rose cake you would think that I'd never frosting a cake before LOL.

I just whipped up the butterfly, heart and pendant banners using some scrapbooking stuff I had on hand and once again the girls loved it. Always puts a smile on face when I can put a smile on theirs.
I also made them some birthday cards since I didn't pick any up at the store before hand + I'm kind of over buying and paying $5 for cards when I know most people just throw them away so I again I just used some of my scrapbook stuff and made them each a card.
These were very simple and easy to make cards, just my type. Hope your having a great week so far. Thanks for stopping by.

Vegas mini

Finally got my Vegas mini album finished in all its cute goldness! So grab a drink and sit back, this post is pretty photo heavy.
We packed as much stuff into one weekend in Vegas as we could and still didn't get to everything that we wanted to, which just means of course, that we HAVE to go back. This is only the second time that we've been to Vegas and both times I've had fun and wouldn't mind going back. So I'm sure that Vegas will be in our future adventures, but for now I'm working on somewhere that we haven't bee

Project Life week 29

Wahoo it's Friday!! This has been a week let me tell you and I am ready for the weekend and what better way to get ready for the weekend than by sharing another project life spread?!?! This was the week that we headed to Branson for the weekend, so there are a few inserts that I wanted to include in the album since I didn't make  mini album.
One of my favorite things that we did (David and I) was to visit the Titanic Museum. I loved it! It was very neat and interesting to walk through it. David, of course, didn't care for it, but he's just weird that way. LOL  And I of course had to have the pictures they took of us.
The start of the week was pretty slow with not much going on since we were getting ready for both Branson and then Vegas the next weekend.

And a few more shots from our weekend. (yes, I did take the do not disturb sign from the hotel, but it wasn't on purpose)  Here's to the weekend, hope yours is great!

Viva Las Vegas

Hello Monday!! Hope you had a great weekend and that the week  goes good too. I thought I'd share a few of my pictures from our Vegas trip last weekend. While I had my camera or of course my phone with me at all times and to hear the people I was with you'd think I took loads and loads of pictures, but that's not the case after all. I did take several, but a lot was at night and in low light so there are a lot that didn't turn out. But I wanted to share some of the ones that did.
Our first night there we went to the Coyote Ugly bar in our hotel. While the pictures because of the lighting in the bar we still had fun and I wanted to share a few.
After a little while there we just explored the city and did A LOT of people watching. LOL
Yep that would be my husband posing with Mario and Luigi (his idea). So not only were we people watching, we were getting watched too. :)
Then headed on down the strip to the Bellagio.

And of course the water show at Ceasars Palace. This was just about all that we did on first day, since we traveled on this day as well. I'll be back with day two and three. I am working on a mini album for this trip so I'm going to try and not show ALL of the same pictures that will be in the album, that way hopefully you'll keep coming back and not think that I'm just posting the same pictures over and over. LOL :)
