I Want It Wednesday

Misikko.com

I've been on a mission for a new flat iron. I've had a Chi for a very long time and have been happy with the results that I get using it, but it's time to try something new. And this is the one I want. All of the reviews on it was five stars, nothing but good things about it and the company. If you know me then you know my hair and you know that it requires time and effort to get the frizz and fly aways unde control. This seems like it might be just the thing to help me do that.

Happy Little Moments

I signed up for Maggie Holmes online class over at Studio Calico this month and I am just now getting started on the project and getting parts of it posted. Good thing it's a self-paced class huh?!? Maggie is not only a great scrapbooker, but she is an amazing photographer and her pictures are always fantastic. Love her work.

I'm really having a lot of fun doing this mini and I'm ready to get some more of  the pages done and to have a completed album. They offered a class kit that you could buy, but I knew I had a lot of things in my stash that would be perfect for this book. I bought the book at the library for only fifty cents. Can't beat that.

I am also very excited about next months class that Studio Calico is going to offer with another very very talented scrapbooker, Kelly Purkey. Can't wait.

A Minnie Mouse Cake

So last weekend we had my nieces 2nd birthday party and the theme was Minnie Mouse. Super cute. I went online to get some cake ideas and there are so many cute cake ideas out there for this theme. I picked out the one I wanted to do and set out to get all the supplies that I needed. Well it didn't work out like it should have to I had to tweak it a little.

Super simple super easy. Plus Minnie not only served as the cake topper, but as our gift to her as well. She was super excited she almost didn't let us take pictures of her and the cake before she snatched Minnie off of it or some of the icing. LOL!!

I really wanted to do the cake that I had planned on, but she seemed to really like this one so I guess it all worked out. I'm now trying to come up with a cake for David's grandma's 90th (yes, 90th!!) birthday. Any ideas?!?

I Want It Wednesday

Todays want is all my husband's fault.

http://rivertrailmercantile.com/

So these boots were brought to my attention by my sweet husband. Very thoughtful of him no? Well he didn't bother to check the price on these fantastic boots, but I did and I just can't bring myself to pay that much for them. So for now they are on my want list waiting for my sweet husband to buy them for me. (A size 9 babe)!!

Daily Dozen

Linking up with Dear Lizzy and her photo challange to take twelve pictures on the 12th. Love her and her blog. She's fantastic and super creative.  Nothing special going on around here yesterday, but it was still fun to capture some pictures that I probably wouldn't have otherwise. So here goes...

At the bank. I know I know the pictures is not the best, but I didn't have time to fix the settings and snap another one.

At the pump in my rental car that I get to drive for the week since my husband took over my truck.

Listening to a cd my friend Ros made for me last week. (Thanks, Ros)

Breakfast of champions?!? I think so. Als another reason to LOVE Easter.

Because there is talk of a beach vacation this summer and I am FAR from beach ready.

I usually don't go through the day at work without playing this game at least once.

Our need to be mowed front yard. But with all the rain we got this weekend not sure when it'll get done.

We went over to my brother and sis-in-law's last night to eat and I snapped this picture of our niece.

My brother. He was warned a goofy face gets blogged just like any other (hehe).

When we got home from my brother's house I gave in and did a load of laundry even though I didn't want to. But thougth we might need some clean towels in the morning.

Tax prep. There was a huge mess all over the living room, but this stack was pretty neat so I snapped a quick shot of it.

A break from the tax prep and a quick shot of David and me. Like I said nothing too special going on here. It was still a fun challange and I'm glad I went ahead and did it. Now go check out her blog and the "linky party" thats going on over there.  Thanks for stopping by.

And we really do have fun together. I mean how could you not have fun when you hang with us? Thanks for stopping by.

Being An Aunt

It is so much fun being an aunt. I get to spoil the kids like crazy and then send them back to their parents. It ROCKS!!! I'm sure the parents don't like it one bit, but hey that's life and that's just the way I roll. I have nine nieces and nephews ranging from 17 yrs to 1 yrs old. I love them all to pieces.  Each one of them is different in every way and that is what makes them all great.  Seeing them grow up and watching who they become is one of the best things in life. I hope they all know that if they ever need anything that David and I will always be here for them. I hope and pray that one day the Good Lord decides to bless us with one of our own, but if for whatever reason he doesn't then I'll continue to  love these guys like my own.

I will admit with the oldest one being seventeen years old and a Junior in highschool I sure do feel old. hehe!

PS. I sure do want one of my own, but for now I'll settle for being Aunt Stacie.

I Want It Wednesday

Hi and welcome back to, I Want It Wednesday. I'm really glad I started this series. I look forward to deciding what I want to add for the week. And this week is no different. This week (as will be the case in weeks to come I'm sure) is about some new camera gear that I want. I've got a fantastic camera that I've had for a year and a half now and I am still so HAPPY with it. It's the Canon 60D and it was money well spent. If I had to do it over again I would. Love it. But with that said I've only got two lenses to go with this awesome camera, the kit lens and yes, I know most professional photographes will tell you not to get the kit lens when you purchase your camera, but I didn't want to spend the money on a new lens right then. Plus this was my first DSLR camera and I had just invested a small fortune in it and wanted to learn how to use it before I invested another small forturne in a lens or lenses. After a few months of learning how to use and loving my new camera I invested in the 50mm lens and it is a great lens. I would recommend it to anyone. But the time has come for a new lens. And I've got my eye on two. The 24-70mm and the 85mm. I can't really decide which one I'd like first.

Oh decisions decisions. I think I'll take both!!

I {Heart} NY Part 2

I'm finally getting around to posting some more pictures from NYC.

This guy was making this out of colored sand. Very cool! He added a lot more to it, but when we came back through it was already dark so no picture.

This "house" was in Central Park. We didn't get a chance to explore it though, so I'm not really sure what it was.

The End!! Ok it's really not all of the pictures I have from this trip, but I figure if I post to many more you'll get bored and stop looking. I'm still really excited about going back and actually getting to do some things in the big bad city. But then again I'm always up for a vacation anytime. Thanks for stopping by.
