Wordless Wednesday

I've never done a wordless Wednesday post, but today has been a day alright and I thought wordless was just what was needed. Up and out the door by six A.M. at the hospital for several hours (my grandmother had a procedure done and she is doing great) way longer than I thought it was going to take, then off to do some shopping for the new house. And let me just say that this house is going to cause me to become a drinker. hehe But I am glad that today is over. Now if the weekend will just hurry up and get here. So much for wordless huh? Happy Wednesday!

This past weekend

This weekend was a busy one. Saturday we celebrated eight years of wedded bliss. Eight Years!! Crazy how fast it has gone by too. We've for sure had our ups and downs and ins and outs but it has been the best eight years. I couldn't imagine how different life would be if we weren't married.

Having this guy by my side is the reason I am who I am today. He is there for me, loves me, and will do anything for me. I really am a very lucky girl. Here's to fifty plus more years. I love you Babe!!

And then of course Sunday was Mother's Day. This is a holiday that is well deserved for mothers out there and I for one am glad that we celebrate it.

I am very lucky to have a mother like mine. She is the sweetest, most caring, and loving woman. I love her to pieces. Even though this holiday is a little bitter sweet for me ( I cried during church today) because of our fertility issues and praying and hoping for a baby for 7+ years it makes me sad to think of all the babies out there that don't know their mothers and I don't understand it, but I don't have to. All I have to understand is that this is God's plan and in time we'll know why.  I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!! Have a great week.

Happy Easter {a day late}!

I hope everyones Easter was great! We started the day off with a bit of a storm that resulted in us not having electricity and getting ready for church in the dark. Not so much fun.

But since we had time to kill and couldn't do anything at the house we decided to go for donuts, which if I do say so myself was a great idea. And it was a plus for the two of us to just get to hang out. I love that.

Easter is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate, it is very near and dear to my heart for so many reason, as it should be. Just knowing that Jesus Christ died for my sins and then arose from his grave all so that I could have a place in Heaven one day. I can't even describe what that means to me. For him to have suffered the way he did so that you and I could have everlasting life is something that we will never be able to repay. It truly is a blessing and I hope that you don't let it pass you by.

And yes, because of the rain and weather I wore my Hunters to church. What can I say at least my feet didn't get wet. Happy Easter!

Hurry up vacation

We are going on vacation to Florida in just a few short weeks and I am super excited. Even though I don't need to be seen in a pair of shorts let alone a swimsuit, it's the beach, and sun, and time spent with family so I'm going to soak it up regardless of the size of my legs.

Since the trip will be here before I know it, I've been trying to decided what I want to pack. Now don't be thinking, dang this girl gets prepared way early, because I don't. I'm the type of girl who packs the night before she leaves to go anywhere and sometimes I've even been known to throw things in a bag the morning of, so that's not the case at all. But since we are moving and almost everything will be in storage at the time of our trip I've been trying to decide on what I need to make sure doesn't get packed up and put in storage ( I don't want to have to go digging for something I want to take).  And in my preparation I've discovered a few new things that I need to invest in before we head off to blue oceans and sunny beaches. I'm sure there will be a lot more stuff that I'll "need" but for now this is at the top of the list.

I can't wait to get there. It's going to be great. Any other ideas or suggestions? I'd love to hear them.

31 and Pearls

As of today, it's official, I am "in" my thirties.....Hello 31! I can't believe it. It doesn't seem like it's been a whole year since I turned thirty. I'd like to be able to say that a lot has changed in the past year. That I'm where I thought I would be at this age, that I'd be not only older but wiser. Of course none of that is the case. At thirty-one I thought I'd be in a career that I love (or at least didn't hate), that we'd have at least two kiddos and either waiting on the third one to get here or talking about when we should be having that third one. That David and I would actually be spending more time together (he works off) and that everything is how I thought it would be or had planned when I was a teenager. But somtimes God has other plans for us and that seems to be the case with me. I don't know what is in store for me. I don't know if I'll ever get into a career that I love or if we'll ever have one baby let alone the three that I always thought we'd have, or if I'll ever be able to talk David into moving to another state. Don't get me wrong I have a good life, I am happy and healthy and I am married to a wonderful man who would give me the moon and stars if I asked him too. And I am thankful for my/our problems because I know there are people out there who have it way worse than I/we do.  I am also the type that believes everything happens for a reason and there is a reason for me to be right where I am a this moment in my life.

So today I slept in ( I don't like to work on my b-day) got up and got dressed. I had already decided that I wanted to go shopping, shopping always makes me happy and invited my Mom to go with me. While I was getting dressed I decided that 31 calls for being a little more dressy than my plaid and vest so of course I added pearls. hehe

I'm going to embrass thirty-one and see where this year takes me in life. I hope that it holds lots of change, good change and an adventure for us.

Here's to you 31. I can't wait to see what you bring.

Glitter Heels and Cowboy Boots

Oh how I love date night! We always do a date night when David is home, sometimes its a pretty big deal and other times not so much, but I love it either way. It's time that we get to spend together doing something that one of us has planned and it's always fun. It's a chance to get dressed up and have fun. Like these Steve Madden glitter heels that I LOVE and have had for a year now and haven't worn them anywhere, unless you count around the house just to be able to say why yes, I have worn them thank you very much! Date night for us doesn't always have to be on a Friday or Saturday night, we fit it in whenever we can.

Like Wednesday was date night this go around. We did dinner and a movie. While waiting at the restaurant I brought out the camera and we snapped a few pictures in the parking lot and I love the way they turned out, even though it was WINDY and my hair was all over the place. It was a gorgeous day and we were having fun. Ok I was having fun! David isn't a big fan when I break out the camera remote or use the self-timer on the camera, but you will always find me using both.

These pictures are funny because right before the picture took we were discussing how my 5in heels make me a wee bit taller then him and him saying no your not. I really am though (hehe). While I'm sure people who drove by were wondering what the heck we were doing or why we were doing it, but that's part of the fun too right? (hehe) We watched Hit and Run and it was horrible. Neither one of us liked it, but we stayed till the end. If you don't do date night I highly recommend it. You need to be able to make time for yourself and time for yourself and your husband. I'm already looking forward to the next date night.
