Spring, is that you?

Sunny and 75 outside today. Could it be.... Spring, is that you? The first official day of Spring was last Friday, but with the weather we had here over the weekend you wouldn't know it. But yesterday and today have both been perfect weather and (for now) the rest of the week and into the weekend is suppose to be perfect weather. Here's hoping since we are planning on going camping this weekend. After the crazy winter we had I'm looking forward to sunny spring days, porch swing hangs, green grass, and blooming flowers.

Even Gunner can't help but smell the flowers!

This is me {mini album}

Almost a year ago to the day, I started this album. It was an online class that Studio Calico offered. I didn't sign up for it when it was first offered, but they later had a "sale" on their classes so I signed up for it at that time. This album is all about ME and who I am and it's one of my favorite albums to date. It's funny doing a whole album about YOU or it was for me anyway. If given the chance to do another album similar to this though I would!! So get your beverage of choice and have a seat this is a long one.....

This is me, this is all of who I am. I wear a lot of hats and more.

 Yep, I'm a twin. The story is pretty funny about how my mom didn't know she was pregnant with twins until two (2) weeks before her due date.

 I've worn glasses since I was super little. I have horrible eyesight and a lazy eye. It sucks, but it is what it is.

I can usually be found with a book in hand and I am such a homebody. I'm not one that has to be out doing something all the time. I like my alone time.

 Even though I am a homebody I have a crazy love of going to new places and vacations. Vacations are my jam. There's a great big world out there that is just wanted to be explored.

YES I AM and that is the BEST part about me.

I'm not me without him!

I LOVE SHOES!!!! I always have and I always will. I'd rather buy a pair of shoes over anything else.

This page was a hard one for me to put in this album, but it's me and it's what I'm dealing with. While I didn't want to hide my journaling I also didn't want it easily read so I printed it off on vellum and it works great. (just fyi.... infertility is a bitch)

 Up until this past year I have NEVER drank coffee, and now I'm hooked on iced coffee. I've always loved the smell of coffee, but never liked the taste. I still don't like hot coffee, but iced caramel mocho?? Yes please.

I had to add a page about my quirks. I only list a few because I know I have way more than this.

Sugar, Buttercup, sweetheart......

Valentine's Day is this weekend!?!???!?!? I love Valentine's Day. I mean a holiday that combines pink and red and hearts and flowers and chocolate and all things lovey dovey, yes please! I've thought about and have decided on David's gift, but haven't picked it up yet (I'll get it closer to time) and I've got our plans for the day mapped out too. He's on nights next weekend, but I'm ok with that we'll just do our plans a little earlier in the day before he goes to work. Got to make it work however you can. Do you have your sweethearts gift/surprise bought and done yet? Have you even thought about it? Do you celebrate this holiday? As soon as I saw this free printable from Studio Calico I knew I had to download it and print it out. I resized it to 6x6 because I have plans to slip it into my project life album somewhere/how. You really should go check it out and download for yourself too.

How is it that 2014 is over (or will be in a just a few short hours) and that 2015 is here?!?!?! This year just seemed to have flown by. I've got big plans in 2015!

and so many other things on my list. I don't do resolutions, because they never make it past the first week so I'm not going to even set myself up to fail there. I've got so many things I want to do and I'm hoping that 2015 will allow for it or at least a good bit of it. Any new years resolutions for you?

Happy Birthday......to me

 

Today 33 years ago I was brought into this world (along with a twin brother). 33 years!!!!!!! What the what????? I think to myself that can't be right can it? But low and behold it is. I still can't believe it. Last night a friend and I took off work and went shopping and then to the theater to watch Sister Act. I loved it, it was so good. Another one of our friends was supposed to go, but ended up getting sick and couldn't. And David is on nights this week, so tonight it was just Mom and me for dinner, but that's ok he's off this weekend so we've got big plans. I'm totally ok with celebrating my birthday for a week! ;)

If you remember my birthday wishlist  then you know that this hat   was on it and I LOVE it. I can't wait to wear it everywhere. It's the perfect Fall hat in opinion. I'm still waiting to see what else I get for my birthday, if its anything else on the list or something I didn't even think of. We shall see.

But for now these flowers and birthday donuts is enough to get me started on the next year of my life. I can't wait to see what the future holds for me and for our family. Happy Birthday to me!!

Golden Hour

Aww.... the golden hour! During the Fall its amazing and I'm always trying to think of reasons to take pictures when the sun is just  right in the sky. Today with out reason I just decided to snap a couple quick pictures and just watch the sky for a bit. I love it. But with it comes the understanding that the days are getting shorter and before I know it by the time I get home from work it'll be dark outside. Right now I have about 45min once I get home to enjoy daylight before it starts to get dark on me. So maybe that was my reason in taking a few quick pictures today. Because in a couple of weeks I won't be able to.

It really is the best time of day to enjoy, I think. I've always loved the winter, but fall runs a pretty tight race.

Waiting on Spring

So even though the official first day of Spring was on the 20th, we've still been having some cool/cold nights around here. I know its only the been six days since then, but I mean WHERE IS SPRING??? I'm ready for it. I'm ready for some back porch sitting (even though we still have/need stuff for the back porch), for backyard parties, and just getting into Summer mode around here. I'm sure once June rolls around I'll be upset about the heat, but for now I'm over winter and the cold.

I will say we have been soaking up all the sunshine we still have after we get home from work and Gunner loves it too!! Isn't he just the cutest?!?!? LOL Poor thing lets me pretty much torture him. He cracks me up. Happy hump day!!

Sweethearts Day

Yep that's right, I'm talking about Valentines Day, February 14. And yes I know that we are already in March, but I finally have internet and I'm beyond excited to not have to blog from my phone anymore. Since I know and use my actual computer to post I want to start posting the stuff I didn't want to mess with on my phone and a whole lot of other stuff that I've got planned.

David had to work on Valentines day and on Saturday too so instead of going out we decided to cook at home and just spend the evening together. No fuss or anything. But since this is one of my fav holidays I couldn't just let it be a plain old Friday night at home. I had all sorts of ideas going through my mind and I wanted to do them all, but it just wasn't going to happen. So I opted for just some cute and easy rosettes and of course the heart banner that I've for a couple of years now. I wanted to make lots and lots of rosettes, but to make the big ones it takes two and half sheets of paper and for the most part I didn't have that much paper in one design so I went with some small, med, and large ones.

No lovers day is complete without red velvet cupcakes and chocolate covered strawberries. YUM!!



It ended up being a great Valentines at home if I do say so myself. 

Where is Fall?

Where is Fall? That is my question. I know its only the first of October, but I've been seeing so many pictures through social media of people and their beautiful changing leaves and trees and cooler temps. Not here in Oklahoma though. Our leaves are not changing colors, but thankfully our temps are dropping a little. It's no longer in the 90's and that makes me happy. I know Fall will get here soon enough, but I'm ready now!! How about where you live, how's Fall coming along there?
