Planning, prepping, & packing

Finishing up some plans for some adventures we've got planned for this weekend and next weekend. Looking forward to both mini vacays.

Prepping some cute mini albums for both trips. I'm loving these We R Memory Keepers albums I'm really looking forward to using them. 

And because who wants a boring black luggage tag? I'm prepping one of these for our second trip. 

 Packing, we'll nothing it because I'm the worlds worst packer. I hate packing and always always wait to the last minute to do it. Which reminds me... guess i I better get to it. What about you, any fun mini vacations it big vacations still do to this summer or have you already been on one?

Happy Good Friday all!! Just wanted to share this. I found it on Pinterest the other day and of course pinned it. I love it so much. This could be used for anything, any type of occasion. But I wanted to share it here today on Good Friday to remind people that they are in fact loved by the one and only Jesus Christ. This weekend we celebrate his death and resurrection oh him and there is no other greater love.  I pray that people start to see this and believe in Him and all that he has done, will do, and can do. Happy Easter!!

 

Acknowledge Him

Proverbs 3:6. This verse is so true and I'm glad that I ran across it looking through our Bible. It was even underlined like it was meant for me to find and read. I love when that happens. I'm not sure who done that, but I'm guessing since only David and I read this Bible it must hav been him, so thanks babe! 

How many times do we need direction in our life? I know I need it ALL the time and knowing that all I have to do is acknowledge Him and he will guide my paths is such a comfort for me. I'm not very good about reading my Bible or doing daily devotions and I want to change that. I need to change that. I need guidance daily and what better way to get it then that? Just a little food for thought in this Wednesday.

Don't you agree...

I think every Friday should start with a chocolate cupcake. I mean just the fact that its Friday should be reason enough to celebrate right? I totally think so. And if you are wanting to start the day off in a good way cupcakes are the way to do that. I'm at least going to put this theory into motion today and see how the day goes. Meet my breakfast.....

And when I got up this morning it was rainy which was not a good thing since they are suppose to do the slab for the house today, but I ate my cupcake and thankfully it only drizzled and has stopped. So far my theory is correct. Guess I'll see how the rest of the day goes. Happy Friday!! Hope you have a good one. 

TGIF

Hello Friday. I am ready for the weekend, it's been a long week. Not to mention we are planning a quick getaway this weekend which I'm always on board with. Hope your week was a good and the weekend is better. 

Let the dirt work begin

We are finally making some head way with the land and new house, thank goodness. I was beginning to wonder if we were ever going to get started on any of it. But the driveway is in and the place where the house is going to sit has been cleared and leveled so next stop is getting the slab laid. Those guts were out earlier this week, but The spot wasn't quite level so the dirt work guy was back out to fix that and hopefully there won't be any other hold ups on getting started. Can't wait to get the actual house started. I've got so many ideas that I'm hoping we can do with the house. It's all very exciting and stressful at the same time.

People always say if you can make it through the first year of marriage, the seven year itch, or building a house then your marriage will last. So far we've made it through two of the three and are working on the last one. And even though I know we are going to fight and argue and disagree on things about the house, I'm beyond confident that we'll make it through this too. Hope your having a great week so far. It's almost over and I for one am very ready for the weekend. 

Happy Birthday America

Happy 4th of July. Today I'm thankful for my those who have served and are serving for my freedom because I know that freedom isn't free. I am glad that I live in America and I am proud to be an American. I hope you all are having a safe and fabulous day. Happy birthday America. 

Gigi's Cupcakes

Well after being gone for a week for work and then coming home to find that my internet was messed up and then it taking a week to get it fixed I am finally back and able to post. Let me just say that having no internet for a week took some getting used to, but I made it through. So a couple of weeks ago I was in Norman for work and while the training was some old stuff and some new stuff we still had a lot of fun, we still made the most of it while we were there. We would go shoppng and eating and just mess around town and one day we came across Gigi's Cupcakes and knew that we had to try it. So on our last day there we hit it up and tried it out. It took us a while to figure out type we want, but after mch debate we went with Midnight Magic and White Chocolate Raspberry Frappe. They were both very good.

 



Love the little box that the cupcakes came in. Super cute.

 

 

We made a pit stop on the way home to eat them and it was jus the right time for a little sugar high to make it the rest of the way home  and for a few quick pictures.

100th Post

I can't believe this is my 100th blog post. When I started this blog I didn't know what I was doing, what I'd blog about or if anyone would read it (I still don't) especially when it seems everyone has a blog now days. But I knew I wanted to start my own blog for me to post about whatever I wanted and didn't care if my husband or friends that I make read it were the only ones whoever did. It is what it is and that is fine with me. I will continue to use this blog in the same way I've been using it and hopefully one day I'll be more creative in what I post and more people will swing in to read it, but if not thats ok too. Thanks to the ones who do read it.

Monday, Monday

It's no secret that I hate Mondays, as I'm sure that most people do. I think a lot of my problem is that I don't like my job and I haven't for a long time now and while I've been trying to find something different nothing has come up yet. I want to be one of those people who love to go to work and wants to be there not because they have to. Hopefully one of these days that will be my case. But until then I'll have to deal with where I'm at. Don't get me wrong I'm grateful that I have a job because I know there are so many out there doesn't, but I'm not happy and that makes for a miserable work week.

I try to not let my job rub me wrong or stress out to much over it because I know that all that paperwork will be there tomorrow, but it sucks knowing that too. Knowing that you will NEVER be caught up isn't something I look forward to every day I go to work. But it is what it is and I'm dealing with it, like I've been dealing with it for almost eight years now. This past weekend while I was in target I ran acrosss this....

and had to have it. I'm hoping that the sentiment and bright colors will cause me to do what it says. If it's scrapbooking or just something creative related or better yet to apply it to my everyday job. So here's hoping that this little notebook will cause me to "make something good today" and everyday. I hope that you too will "MAKE SOMETHING GOOD TODAY". Have a great Monday!

Hello Monday

Hello there Monday, today we are going to get along and everything is going to go smoothly right? 



 

Can't believe its Monday again. The weekends are not near long enough.  It really should be a law that the weekends are at least three days all the time. Here's to a good Monday and a good week. With any luck it'll be fast and painless. Is it bad that I'm already looking forward to Friday?? I know I know I'm wishing my life away, but I'm only wishing it away Monday through Friday at 5pm!

Weekend Recap

This weekend was crazy busy. David got home Thursday and we just went from there. It seems like we were hardly home, but it was loads of fun. Here's a few pictures from the weekend. I took lots and lots of pictures, but I'll only bore you with a few.

We had great weather all weekend long. It was nice to be able to spend most of it outside. I hope everyone had a great holidy. Now I need another long weekend to help me recover from this one.

7 yrs.

7 yrs ago today, David and I said "I do". I can't believe it's already been seven years, that's crazy. I mean we're pushing a decade here! We made it through the rough first year and now the seven year slump. We've come along ways in the past seven years. We've grown together and as individuals. We've had our ups and downs, but I wouldn't trade it for  anything. It's been a great ride and I'm looking forward to a lot longer one with him.

I am very lucky to have him in my life. Happy Anniversary Babe! I love you.

Celebrating 90!

Yesterday we celebrated David's grandmother's 90th birthday (her birthday was actually today). I know right, 90! I just hope and pray that if I live that long I look as good and get around as good as she does. She is a great woman and I'm glad that I get to call her family. The celebration was after church and so many people came out to wish her a Happy Birthday. I think she really enjoyed it.

I was asked to make a cake to feed 100+ people and this cake is what I came up with. Nothing over the top, but David's Grandmother and everyone else seemed to really like and that's what counts right? Looking at these pictures though I see that the bottom ribbon wasn't even, but oh well. I took the picture before they had the table done, that's why there is only nuts on there and nothing else.

I just want to say HappyBirthday to her and to everyone else that has a birthday this month.

New Do

Well after a long debate I finally decided to get my hair cut for the summer. It was well past time to at least get it trimmed up, but I decided to go short. Not super short, but shorter than I've had my hair in a long time and I think I'm gonna like it. I guess we'll see.

Yep, I look pretty rough in the before pic I know. So tell me, what do you think? Does it look ok?

He Arose

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone had a great Easter. We did even though it rained all day long. After church we dyed eggs and then did a little hunt in the rain. Easter is one of my favorite holidays, not because of the Easter Bunny or dying and hunting eggs. While those things are fun and all, its knowing that Jesus Chirst died for me and my sins. He died for all of us. It is because of the death, burial, and resurrection of Him that I am able to ask for forgiveness and receive it. That we are all able to ask for forgiveness and receive it so that we will one day have a home in glory. That is what Easter is about and I hope that we don't get lost in all things Easter related that doesn't have anything to do with our Savior and the sacrifice that he gave. He Is Love! I feel that love and I am thankful for that love.

A Sunday Hike

This past weekend I went on a hike with Bethany and Ros. The weather was perfect and getting out was great. This time of year here is the best time to go hiking because once May rolls around it gets
HOT. We picked a trail that I hadn't been on before and I won't go back on this on, it just wasn't all that pretty. I mean the whole reason I went was to get some good pictures and I failed in doing so, but here are a few of my favs from the day.

These two are really good sports when they hang out with me (and my camera). They are always willing to pose while I'm trying to set the camera and its always funny how most of the time they end up doing the same thing and don't even realize it.

I'm not sure if we'll get a change to again before it gets to hot, but if we can swing it I'm in.
